Acceptance and moving forward to 2021

We had a year when we started with a lot of hope and resolutions, plans including parties, holidays, and many more. Who are in the profession of public relations and entrepreneurs, life coaches had huge plans for coming new year like every year we do. But we couldn’t imagine what is waiting for us.
2020 brings a binary change in our life. It started with a lot and a lot of unexpected deaths, survival struggles and we faced a new normal which we never imagined about.
Altogether it was not a good year. Mental health has faced a lot of challenges. We didn’t yet realize how much change is going inside our minds. We are almost scared to touch an unknown surface, we scared to stand near unknown people, we forgot the joy of hugging friends, meeting people face to face to have chat. And a single year made us 100% digital and from a point of mechanical.
On the other hand, we might have come closer to our family but very few could enjoy that. Only family life is not a perfect life. We need friends, clients, students, colleagues around us but somehow we are surviving.
On a lighter note, our life faced a major change in history like BC and AC (Before Covid and After Covid).
Yet it is not over. Especially in Canada, we are in provincial lockdown and the 2nd wave of Covid-19 is still ruining people’s lives. We can’t help but maintain the protocols and stay at home.
But every bad experience gives us a lesson. What is the learning that we could carry from 2020?
2020 taught us that life is really unpredictable and we are yet way weaker than nature. We may create our planner, list of goals, routines but what is happening is not in our control. So, will we stop having plans? will we stop setting goals? No, never. Life can give us challenges but we have our own strength to face the challenges. We may face that “road closed” but choosing a detour is our plan, our decision.
We should gather more and more mental strength to face life challenges.
Just look back and see how quickly we all adopted the digital world, online meet-ups, we may be far from the human touch but we immediately made the world inside our living rooms.
We need to keep our strength and spirit up to welcome the new year with a prayer for our own self and the rest of the world, with more humanity, compassion, and love.
Sharing my immense gratitude and respect for all the doctors and healthcare providers also the frontline workers. And gratitude to the mental health practitioners who continuously supported and still supporting in this whirlpool time. You are doing great.
This time 31st night I will not share my thoughts like “May this year bring peace and healing to the world” but I wish “may we keep our minds stronger and prepare to see the morning of a new year, with the strength of acceptance and self-confidence to face 2021”. Taking the lesson of acceptance and moving forward being super mindful and wheeling with self-esteem.
~ With love Haimanti.
